I had some material arrive last week and made a start on some chassis yesterday. I'm making 10 in this batch, I did 8 right hand and 2 left hand. Below is the first operation cutting the outside shape from a piece of 40mm 6061 plate:

I'll post up some more photos as I get further along with the process.

P.S. That's a Howa one sitting on top in the last couple of photos.

Cool. Do these fir the T3 actions?

And given that the T3s are all the same length with the LA using a different bolt stop and magazine does that mean the medium action (say my 7-08) will also fit?

Yep, any round that fits in a short action AICS magazine will fit.

2.880" in the AICS, you can fit 2.985" in a type 2 Alpha magazine, they're the same outside profile but don't run the plate up the front of them. Pretty much any 308 based cartridge won't be a problem in a regular AICS mag.

Fully fitted out with skins, a picatinny spigot and a Limbsaver pad will be around a grand. Time-wise around a month hopefully, I need to get a rifle to check how everything fits up. I don't want to make any promises yet but it won't be too far away.

I got the other side of the action blocks and the front and rear spigots sorted today. The 2 on the right hand side with the longer bolt cutout lugs are going to be Savage ones. I took some video of some machining today, I'll edit it down and post it up to youtube at some stage.

Yep, anodising is looking like the go. I normally cerakote them but this is a lot to cerakote. Spraying inside the tubes is a prick to do as well so it'll solve that problem.
